General information about the event that can be used any year.

Welcome to the International Space Apps Challenge (ISAC) Greater Baltimore/Washington Area Web Site. We are looking forward to our third year of hosting the ISAC event on the 23rd and 24th of April, 2016 at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHUAPL) at 11101 Johns Hopkins Road, Laurel, MD 20723, in the Lobby of Building 200. Building 200 is where the Space Sector calls home and will be a great environment for this event.
ISAC is a global, technology development event composed of more than 100 local events and virtual participation from individuals around the world that draws on the talents and initiative of bright minded volunteers – developers, engineers, technologists, designers, and anyone with a passion and desire to make an immediate impact on the world. The event embraces engagement and collaborations across borders, sectors and populations to bring about paradigm-shifting innovation around the world.

ISAC uses challenges across various space related problem areas to allow participants to demonstrate their application of untapped, unexpected, uncharted expertise in helping organizations solve tough problems. It’s about rethinking and remixing what is known with what isn’t, and creating a pipeline for introducing and implementing new or recombinant ideas.

JHUAPL is excited to be hosting the event and working with talented local innovators and dreamers to develop fascinating presentations. Those presentations will be used to determine the winners of the local event that will get a chance to participate in the global judging round and possibly win a prize that includes an intimate visit at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. We hope perusing this website will allow you to gain a greater understanding of the event and will convince you to join us in April. See you in April…
